Minilab mkII controller not talking to PT2021

Hello,

I just received my new Minilab mkII controller and I can't make it work in PT 2021. I am receiving this error message (see images).

What's wrong with my setup?

MBP (running Big Sur) + PT2021 + Omnisphere 2 + Minilab mkII,

Trying to use Omnisphere 2 in PT using Minilab.

Is there any other details you would like me to provide?

No.

PT is not yet running natively on Apple Silicon but nevertheless it is supported under Rosetta with certain limitations. My experience with Omnisphere running on Rosetta is good, but I hae no idea about Minilab. Maybe you need to contact their support?

The Minilab looks to me like it’s just a simple MIDI keyboard. Why are you trying to set it up as a HUI controller? Does it even do the HUI protocol?

We don’t know if it’s an M1 based MBP so I wouldn’t jump to it being a Rosetta issue. The OP just said MBP running Big Sur. Could be anything.

I agree with Jimmy though. Why are you trying to use HUI? Set it up as a standard MIDI interface and it should work fine.

It’s class compliant, so no drivers required. Should appear in Audio MIDI setup. Then just make sure it’s setup correctly in Pro Tools and it should work fine.
