digi 002 with another sound card in same computer?
I want to record a summing mix into soundforge from PTLE (to avoid SRC). Will a digi 002 and another sound card play nice together in the same computer?

Re: digi 002 with another sound card in same computer?
It does for me. I use an "Echo Layla" for Sound Forge.

Re: digi 002 with another sound card in same computer?
I've never had any issues using the onboard sound with either my old 002 or my present 003. I now run the optical SPDIF from the motherboard into a Presonus Central Station for listening to WaveLab and any other non-PT sound.

If only....
The big plus is the optical SPDIF, which you don't get on the Mackie Big Knob.

Which of course is a really nice feature to have as SPDIF or Toslink has been standard on quite a few higher end Mobos in the last few years.

Re: digi 002 with another sound card in same computer?
Back to the OP comment
"summing mix into soundforge from PTLE (to avoid SRC)." How does this avoid SRC and why are you concerned? If I assume for a moment that your session is 48K and you are shooting for a 44.1K file for audio CD burning, the Sample rate MUST be converted somewhere. FWIW, I always bounce to disc at the same bit depth and sample rate as the session. Then I import the bounced file into my mastering program(I use WaveLab but SoundForge should be much the same). Once the audio is in WaveLab, I apply any finalizing plugins I want and dither to 16 bits and render the file. Then I Save As... and choose 16 bit/44.1K as the format and I can choose to overwrite the 24 bit file, or I will name the new file "songname16bit". The results are excellent so if you are having problems, maybe spell out your method in complete detail, and someone here may spot a flaw in your process(or a flaw in MY assumptions).
