Do either of you have Install Apps Silently and/or Update Apps Automatically enabled?

Yes, when I first started Avid Link after it was upgraded I mistakenly agreed to “update apps automatically”. Now I cannot find a way to undo that choice and disable automatic updates.

Looks like you're on macOS... click the Avid Link icon in the upper right of your menu bar and select Preferences then disable the Install Options there.

Thank you, that did the trick.

I have one more issue that you might be able to help me resolve.

One my Studio A iMac, Avid Link shows two items to be installed, SynthCell and Avid Loopmasters Sample Pack. Both of these items are installed, however Avid Link does not recognize this. I have tried to install each of these items a second time, but each time Avid Link returns to reporting “Install” on the status list instead of “current” like all the rest of the items in the list.

Is there a way of making Avid Link aware that these two items are installed?

This problem is not happening on our Studio B iMac.

Thanks!

Worst thing is that once you've installed something (either accidentally or because you wanted to try it) Avid Link won't provide a function to un-install it.

You'd have to remove manually things, which could be risky.

The functionality of keeping installed things up to date is good, but the lack of un-install capabilities sucks.

BTW, after starting this post I decided to do a clean install of my entire system for other reasons. While it's been very time and energy consuming, several things like Avid Link went back to "normal", meaning that it didn't force me to resume the "install all" process.

Default How to turn off Avid Link plugin auto-install?

When I updated to the latest version of Avid Link I had a pop-up come up asking whether I wanted plugins to automatically install, and I stupidly just ticked 'Yes' without thinking - It's now obviously proceeded to install all the remaining plugins that I had originally chosen not to have installed.

I now cannot for the life of me find where I can turn this auto-install off?
I cannot find any sort of Preferences or Settings for Avid Link anymore?

Any help or a point in the right direction most appreciated.

I don’t know if you have a Mac or PC, however, if you're on macOS... click the Avid Link icon in the upper right of your menu bar and select Preferences then disable the Install Options there.

If you are on a PC I am not sure how to accomplish the same thing and one of the PC users can hopefully help you.

Have a great day.
