Here are a few options if the problem is in the mix:

pan, eq, compress, turn it up, turn everything else down a bit, ride the fader, etc...

If your signal is too low at the converter, turn up the mic pre.

Turn up the Mic volume.

Im not trying to make you sound like an idiot, because this happened to me, but my damn mic would barely make any noise...couldnt figure it out...then i Figured it out, the thing needed a new battery. I dont know what kind of mic you have, but try that out if applicable.

Have you tried that, where do you have it set? I'm not familier with that mic, does it need phantom power? If it does is it switched on?

Ahh.. If you dont need phantom power than you should definately check the battery(if there is one), and probably shouldnt be going Line in, that could be why the signal is so low.

there is no battery and it is a brand new mic...there are pre amps on the mixer but you are saying go direct into the m box and it will make a difference...does line in exempt the m box pre amps? and if i went into the outlet on the back of the mbox am i going to get stereo out?

Forget the mixer for now, plug the mic into the source 1 input in the back of the Mbox & turn the gain knob UP.
You might also want to have a read thru this.
