Help connecting 1622 to d24

I'm a bit confused here. The cable I recieved with my 1622 unit doesn't match the connectors. I have 60 pin connectors on both the d24 and the 1622, but the cable has 2 different ends. Are these units not compatable, or is there an adapter I need to buy, or what? Digidesign sells a replacement cable, but it too has 2 different ends....
