Oops... I typed 16 tracks - only because I have 16 simultaneous mic/line inputs in my i9 setup!!! Sorry for the confusion on my part. Now, I'm curious, so I did a test on my (non-HD) i9 system:

24/48k buffer 64
Made a track, and signal-generated a 1k tone. Fed this tone track into 100 record enabled tracks. On each of these 100 record enabled tracks I inserted 10 plugs:

EQ3 7-band (i.e. 100 total EQs in the session)
BF-76 (i.e. 100 total comps)
eight(!) MONO Dverbs (i.e. 800 mono dverbs total)

During recording, the Pro Tools CPU meter is fairly steady at about 65-69%. At the same time, I had about a dozen Chrome tabs open. Recording ran fine for over an hour, then I hit stop. No errors.

OP

For low latency (e.g. 32 buffer) I have found Processor Affinity Setting critical - at larger buffers there is no benefit, but at 32, for sure. You can experiment with different settings using TaskManager>Details>Right Click on PT.
