Default Pro Tools v2025...?

Are we on schedule or did I missed the memo?

There isn't a schedule. Releases come at various times.

The last three-month update got shifted back a month, and now there's no word at all on any kind of schedule.

I did start a thread on this a while ago, but few seemed very interested or bothered. Seems odd to me to charge $500pa (Ultimate) for maybe nothing, but there we are.

I don't think there really is a way to predict the complications of an added feature until it's tested on as many different systems as possible.
While I'm sure Avid would love to deliver updates on a perfect schedule, I don't see how this could be possible in a software product as large and complex as Pro Tools.

The three-month cycle was centered around satisfying shareholders every quarter. However, since AVID sold itself to private equity, they no longer need to demonstrate progress through quarterly releases to placate shareholders.

So now it's back to how it should be: satisfying customers.

That sounds lovely, but it doesn't sit with the annual support plan model. At the moment we're in no-mans-land - annual update pricing with no guarantee of any updates at all, still less knowing when we get them. Avid's radio silence on this makes me uneasy.

At least you can buy your perpetual license upgrades as you need them again. I have an m4 mbp but my plan lapsed 9mo ago. I'm not paying to renew until my system is properly supported. All of my professional work has moved to Reaper anyway.
