003 controller-only version to replace Command8?

Well, the Command8 has been a good thing for many of us. I've been using it with HD for over 2 years now and know it well, but some of the imposed limitations (not being able to assign inserts / sends, change automation modes, etc) are a bit of a drag. I've been looking for a used PC, but wonder if they will be worth anything in a short amount of time and right now, I don't have the 27k for a D-Command or even 14K for the Main Unit (a lot of bread for amazing workflow but no change to the sound).

so, now Digi comes out with the 003 - looks cool and they have integrated some of the missing capabilities that the C8 lacks. Will there be a controller only version? anyone? (I personally doubt it, but if anyone has the inside dope, start talkin')

C8 has dropped about €300 (+/- $375) here in the EU over the last month or so.

Wanted to buy one, but I think I'm gonna hold out a bit longer now
