Default C|24 LED Scribble display "error"

Hi all,

So after years not having any problems with my Avid / Digidesign C|24 (the lasted flatbed version).
I got some strange caracters on my LED scribble display.
What I already did:

1. Changing power outlet (ground issue?)
2. MUTE/SOLO/SELECT reset with power up
3. Firmware update
4. Cursing... but only helping to get my anger out. lol

Anybody any suggestions?

I do live in Paris, France. But can't hold to avid/digidesign. Someboy a contact?

Many Thnx!

Try the scribble test in utility menu and the LED test and see if anything changes

I would gladly to try this... BUT the problem is that I can't not see anything on the other displays where to click / which button on the C|24. When I hit the "setup button" its all blurry and weird symbols.

Perhaps you could say to me exactly which button I need to press. And I mean like.. the 3e or 6eme from the left enter etc etc etc etc.

(its a mess )

I think it's on of the ribbon cables from the main board to the led modules that are f*cked up?

yes - it wil be either the ribbon cable to the circuit board, or the circuit board itself. i had exactly the same issue you have. i had to send the C24 off twice to an approved AVID supplier for repair. in the first instance they replaced the circuit board which fixed the problem temporarily and then it happened again. the second time they simply checked the ribon cable connection and since then no problems

Well guys... still not fixed.
EVEN the so called AVID repair peeps aren't
reponding to my many many emails with pictures.

I traced the problem down.
1. it's not the ribbon cables. We replaced them... still same problem.
2. it must the logic board. part number / serial:
9150 - 55198 - 00 REV A
serial - b10100802285 so# 432471T

3. ANY Body here know where I can order this directly. I'm sick of waiting... I need to have a working console ASAP.

I think you have to order this through an authorised repair shop.
AVID do not sell directly to the consumer.

I'm having problems with my C|24.(not the same you got)
Living in Norway, I have to deal with a repair-shop in Stockholm, Sweden.
And they have to get parts from Irland !

I started the process in October, and it is still not solved.
AVID managed to send me wrong parts the first time,
and I'm now waiting for the second shipment.
Then, if and when i finally get the right parts, I will have to use a local repair-shop to put them in ...

If you got an AVID repair guy in in your town, you're actually lucky ...
(You could just put the board in your car and visit his shop)

Well... I'm dammed because the "local" digidesign repair shop just don't my emails and demands. So perhaps I deal with the repair shop in Belgium.
Problem is... I can't take the card out and visit the shop. It's also the logic board for the monitor controller. And we need to be up running non stop on the moment. I know exactly the part we need (got the serial number and everything). Frustrating as hell!

Just to let you know, my case is finally solved.
Cards delivered to my door 3 days ago, and I am now up and running.
Big thanks to the AVID repair shop in Sweden !

I suggest you talk to the guys in Belgium.

Best of luck !
