Default EuCon 2.6.2 not seeing PT8.01CS1

PPC mac OS 10.5.8. / PT8.01CS1
I installed 2.6.2 and it looks fine, but I get Network error message. I have plugged MC directly into Mac. powered off and back on. Mac first then MC. still getting message. EuCon Control settings window shows the MC Mix as "available" but will not let me "add" to "my surfaces".
MC Mix was working with earlier version of EuCon, which I uninstalled.

Eucon only works with PT9 or PT10. But eucon 2.6.2 is for PT 10 only. The last eucon version I used on PT9 was 2.5.6.

Hope that helps!

I was using MC Mix with PT 8 and had to hose the Eucon app. (long story of crashing hard drive, etc...) The read me under the 2.6.2 software download says it supports Lion and PPC's but nothing about which PT version. The 2.6.2 manual shows how to set it up for PT8, so I ASSumed that it would work.
oh well. back to 2.5.7, which says "restores HUI support for PT 8 and earlier"
thanks.

We were using a system 5mc with PT 8 in the music studio but it was working under the HUI protocol. When PT 9 came out with eucon compatibility we could finally use the system 5 MC eucon commands. This was a huge step forward.

Really? that is strange. Unless they specifically say that PT8 will run in HUI mode and not in Eucon.

By the way I am pretty sure you can't run PT8 in lion. Are you?

not in Lion --

PPC mac OS 10.5.8. / PT8.01CS1

If I remember correctly, the 2.6.2 manual did show how to set it up for HUI in PT8.

I re-installed 2.5.7 and it is working now.

going to lion soon, but waiting for new Mac pro... and getting old while i am waiting.
