Default Difficulty Recording Strike Midi Data

Maybe this has been covered before, but I am having trouble recording Strike performance data. I want to play a series of patterns on the Style keyboard and record this MIDI data to the Strike Instrument track. I can draw in pattern triggers by hand, so I know my Strike playback is working. I do not have an extrnal keyboard controller, but I figure I must be able to record my mouse clicks on the Strike keyboard, no? Is there some MIDI routing or MIDI set-up to be done? I am on Protools LE 7.1 with Strike inserted on an Instrument track. The input to this track is "All". In MIDI Preferences, my Default Thru instrument is Strike 1-1.

Thanks much,

Sorry, Strike only supports direct MIDI Input. The Pencil tool or the MIDI Event List is basically your only alternatives within Pro Tools. You might be able to get away with some sort of Virtual MIDI Keyboard (Google).

Thank you. Are you a digidesign employee are just a helpful user? So if I get a basic keyboard controller can I trigger the Strike patterns and simultaneously record the MIDI data to a new MIDI track?

No, no, everyone can do with a hand. Ummm... yes you can, something like the Axiom 25 would be perfect.
