Cannot change drive to audio volume even after formatting
i have an iMac OS X 10.4.6 1.83 GHz Intel-mac, m-audio fastr track pro interface, and a lacie 250 firewire external hard drive. I have tried to reformat my drive many times now, and every time i try to change the record volume, it will not allow me to select "playback" or "record".
I used my hard drive on different pro tool set ups, and it worked just fine from the start. I know that my version of pro tools is compatable with the lacie hard drive because I've used it before. I feel like i have tried it all. if anyone could offer any advice, i would really appreciate it. thanks, |

Re: Cannot change drive to audio volume even after formatting
Could be a permissions problem, so check to make sure those are set correctly.
Sometimes this happens to me, but I find that if I restart Pro Tools and power cycle the drive I'm OK. Good luck. |

Re: Cannot change drive to audio volume even after formatting
Have you tried trashing preference or database files yet?
How is the drive formatted, exactly? |

Re: Cannot change drive to audio volume even after formatting
Info on trashing prefs can be found in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting sticky at the top of this forum.
What version of Pro Tools are you running? If it's not 7.1.1 or higher, that could be the problem... |
