I have two machines with two PT LE interfaces - an Mbox 2 Mini for my laptop (windows 7) and a new Mbox Mini for my desktop (iMac). Both machines have 8.0.5. I'm considering purchasing a crossgrade to 9.0 for the desktop machine. If I do that, can I start (or edit) a session in 9.0 on my iMac and still be able to open it in 8.0.5 on my laptop? (note: I would be buying an iLok solely for PT9; I don't have any plugins that require one now)
It's never a matter of both machines being in use at once; it's just a matter of 1.) gee I don't want to put 9 on my laptop and then manage to lose my iLok when I'm out and about and 2.) I only have 3 USB ports on the laptop, which are all already in use when I'm recording (interface, portable USB MIDI keyboard, and mouse) and I don't want to have to carry around a USB hub just for this dongle. So I'd like to stick with 8.0.5 on the laptop. |

D'oh. I can't read. Sorry about that. Looks like I'll be OK as long as I don't go beyond what PT 8.0.5 can do. That's the best I could ever hope for. Thanks!
