Why are you installing anything onto OneDrive? You should not be using cloud storage like this. Pro Tools is quite likely to have problems working with content on cloud storage.

Pro Tools.exe should be installed under C:\Program Files, the default location for x86-64 programs on Windows. And Pro Tools will have lots of issues if the executable it is not installed where expected.

You should just download the installer from the My Products section of your Avid.com account (do that directly not through buggy unreliable Avid Link). Run the installer. Do not change any location or any other thing in the installer.

I never had any problems with it before. I've always had it in my documents folder. Would you suggest trashing the folder I have and installing it where you explain. Thank you for the info. Are you saying to put it into the Program files (x86) Folder?

I have no idea what you did before, and it really does not matter. The proper way (for many reasons) to install Pro Tools is do exactly what I said.

Great!

If you are trying to work with with Pro Tools Sessions to OneDrive volumes, I would encourage you not to do that. Regardless of implications to the contrary, Pro Tools is just not properly designed to work with cloud storage, cannot guarantee content ever arrives there etc. Especially a problem if you try to collaborate through shared cloud storage. And the low performance of cloud storage might cause problems, disk cache might masks lots of that... until it does not.

It's much more reliable to do what effectively everybody does and that is work with sessions on local drives and use the cloud as a way to backup sessions or share sessions between collaborators... who then download them and work locally. Cloud storage is just fantastic for that. Zipping up the sessions before uploading is a nice way of making them more compact, and avoiding people getting in trouble by accidentally running the session on the cloud storage.

(In my best Darryl-voice): NO!

On Windows, install Pro Tools 2023 here:
C:\Program Files\Avid\Pro Tools

Not here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Avid\Pro Tools
