Import Audio - Sample Rate Confusion
Has anyone else experienced problems when importing multiple files of varying sample rates using the "Import Audio" command? It seems if we import multiple stereo files, some at 48 kHz and other at 44.1 kHz, all into a 48 kHz session, certain files have sample rate conversion applied incorrectly so they play back slow.
I have yet to suss out all the particulars and make absolutely sure it's repeatable, and I may not get a chance in the near future, but we've seen it happen a couple of times. Anyone else seen this? And while I'm thinking about it, if you just drag and drop files into ProTools to import them, what is the quality of the sample rate conversion compared to using the "Tweak Head" setting in the "Import Audio" dialogue? Cheers, n |

Re: Import Audio - Sample Rate Confusion
This is a bug in PT 8.0.3 - 8.0.4 LE & HD
Please reference this thread. Avid support is looking into the problem. Incorrect sample rate conversion gets applied to some files when importing multiple sample rates via the Import Audio menu command resulting in some tracks changing length and pitch. The bug does NOT happen when using Drag & Drop to import audio. Hope that helps.
