Default WinXP ASIO capable media player?

All right, so I'm wondering if anybody knows a way to use the new ASIO driver to play back stereo .wav, mp3, etc. through the HD hardware. I would love to hear bounced mixes through my Digi rig without having to use the cheap onboard audio of my motherboard. It doesn't seem that the Windows Media Player will work. I definately would like a simple media player-type app. that would replace WMP for these jobs. Is there another option to try? If not, will a .wav driver be coming?

Isn't wavelab a sound editing app? I'm just looking for an ASIO media player that will playback files without opening a huge app. Something like Real Player, Winamp, Windows Media Player, etc.

Just install the wavedriver. You only need the ASIO driver if you want to use all your I/O channels with 3rd party software such as Cubase. If you just want to listen to stereo mixes etc the wave driver will work fine.

But, I think there is no wavedriver for HD, only for Mix systems. Has anyone gotten a Wavedriver working with HD on XP? Several notes from DD say it won't work, and they're not working on it either.
