"If you're using a 15" screen, on 5.3.1 or lower, you won't see the grid setting. "

Thats not entirely true.. I was up until recently running a 15 inch monitor, and it showed up fine..

Just upgraded to a 19, and it all worked fine as well.

Another option I am thinking Kev that might help, and I dont know for sure yet, as I dont know if Pro Tools used Windows standard "button" templates, but in the "Desktop settings" on your PC you can change the size of Windows buttons(you know, the "Minimize, Maximize, and the 'X'" so they are small, medium, or large sized. I doubt that it will help in this situation, but like I said last nite,

"Everyone has a ProTools bug somewhere, maybe this is yours."

I have some display problems on PT too that have never been figured out, but....

Best of luck! You realy need those pull down tabs to operate a smooth Midi Operation.

=-Ben

Kev,
The shortcuts that do the same thing are:

Change Grid note value- Start/Alt + or -
Change Nudge value- Ctl/Alt + or -

You may find these to be a lot quicker anyway...
Good luck,
-Roy

You will be able to see the current grid setting, but you won't be able to access the drop down menu to change the grid - it's just alittle too far right on a 15" screen set at 800 X 600.

All I can say on my monitor, I was never able to change the grid setting without changing the monitor resolution and the only time I had to change the resolution was for changing the grid setting. Any other PTLE function would work on a 15" monitor.

BTW: The keyboard shortcuts didn't work on my system. It is indeed a good thing that Digidesign added a bar and put the grid settings there where they are always accessible in 6.1

Yeah MYFM, I beleive you %100 ~ for your system. Ive come to learn, that everyone has something that doesnt work for them on thier system as far as PTLE is concerned. In my particular case, everything grid related has worked perferectly, but ive always run 1024 x 768, even on a tiny 15 inch...
