Default artist control sends random play commands

My artist control sends random playback commands to Nuendo 10 on Mac 10.12.6. I am sure it is the Artist Control because when I detach the workstation in eucon settings it doesnt happen. Could be a harware issue? Anybody ever had anything like that?
As I do not use the Play (Start) Button on my Artist Control I ask myself if there is
a way to stop some or all transport commands from Artist Control but have all other commands running?
Changing in Eucon Settings-Soft Keys-Transportwheel - Start Button into any other command doesnt work. Artist Control still uses the button for Play(Start).
Should it be possible to change that? Manual doesnt help about it.

Thank you for any ideas.
Oswald
