are 3 milliseconds of latency noticeable?
they told me the minimum latency of a firewire interface is 3 ms
i wonder is that is unoticeable... because i want to buy the avid mbox 3 pro. that is firewire.... i want to be able to do real time recording with effects. sweetwaters is giving me i really nice academic deal.... avid mbox pro pro tools 9 ilok plus 2 years of warranty all for 840 without paying taxes! so let me know what you think |

Nice deal
3 milliseconds should be unnoticeable compared to the sample buffer in any program. I'm guessing the 3ms is actually the roundtrip figure for the AD/DA conversion. Regardless everyone buying the device is getting the same latency and other than a card based system like HD its about as good as your going to get.

According to advertising Mbox Pro's built in DSP enables you to track with reverb using LLM (low latency monitoring).
