I convert via TOAST to MP4 (iTunes format).

Easy via email (small file).

YOu can always upload to soundcloud.com as well, and allow him/her to download.

I just put thm in a folder and use dropbox.com. Very simple. Not sure what Toast has to do with your situation. Disk image should open just fine

Can you use Apples Disk Utility and create an image of the CD? I think you can, then put that in DropBox and your client converts back to a CD on his end.

Further to doing the above, which does work - just thinking out loud here - does anyone know of a tool that will take a .dmg image file and convert it to a format that a Windows PC can use to burn a CD(say using Nero)?

I just found out that Win7 will burn basic CD and DVD .iso's simply by double clicking them. Not sure if it will create a .iso disk images without 3rd party software. Since I burn a lot of .iso's its good news for me.

Didn't MAX convert .dmgs to iso's? I though there was a freebie out there.

+1 for Dropbox.

You can't make an .iso of an audio disk. Audio disks fall outside the specs of the .iso format.

The easiest thing to do is to upload individual files (wav, mp3, aac) and let him burn them to an audio cd in iTunes. I would only suggest this if he's burning a copy for review. Do not do this for the final files that are to go out for replication.

An .iso is simply a copy or copy of a disc. It can be CD, DVD, operating system, sample library or commercial audio CD. I have a bunch of .iso's created from commercial CD releases.

You need software to convert a existing disk to an .iso image file. And you need software to convert a .iso image to a disk. The only thing I'm aware of that you cant create a image of is copy protected material like DVDs or Blue Ray disks etc.

You would need to create a audio disk first and then make a .iso of that.
