Pops at the beginning of regions
I am getting loud pops at the beginning and end of regions that I create by pitch shifting or repeating existing regions that don't have the pops. I have even trimmed the beginning and ends of these regions but the pop remains. The only way I can get around this is to fade the volume out and in which is very tedious when you are trying to create loops. I am using an Mbox 1 and Pro Tools LE 6.9 Anybody have any experience with this?
Thanks, Doug |

Re: Pops at the beginning of regions
try zooming alllllll the way in on one end. you might also need to zoom the size of the waveform hieght. the waveform should start right on the middle line, called 0, sorta. if it starts above or below that line you'll often get a pop. just trim it to the closest point where the waveform starts on 0, often called the 0-Crossing.
sometimes, the glitch is inaudible, but I'm pretty sure it's always there if you're not starting on 0. if this is happening on both the beginning and end of your region and then you butt them up next to each other with a repeat, the waveform is jumping from some weird point to another weird point as the next region starts. total glitch recipe. some folks are into that stuff. If you can, you really want your regions to end with the waveform coming up to 0 and to start with the waveform going up from 0. this crap is hard to describe. we need waveform tags on the forum. hopefully that's the problem. will
