Selector Tool problem

Hi guys, I'm in LE8 on Windows, when i put the smart selector tool on, whenever i try and select part of a track/region, it selects the same period of time for all of the tracks, and greys them out. I.E if i try to delete 4 bars of guitar it selects (and then deletes) 4 bars of everything...

I know its most probably a stupidly simple problem to solve so apologies in advance!

Click the arrow on the LOWER LEFT SIDE of the edit window,and "suspend all groups."

Shoot no, we learn by asking!!!! (Just swapped my 002 RACK for an 002, SANS manual. Talk about a steep learning curve!!!)
