Default checking plugs for version info

I'm pretty sure all the plugins I have were installed as 64bit. Is there and easy way to check this? as I'm thinking of updating my MacOS to Catalina 10.15.1

cheers in advance.

All AAX plugins are 64bit assuming you’re working in any version above 11.

If your concern is primarily plugins for use with PT, assuming you’re running 11 or higher, then you have no issue re: 64bit plugins.

No. I mean v11 of PT.

PT10 introduced the AAX plugin architecture but it was 32bit as it had to coexist with RTAS/TDM. PT11 made the jump solely to AAX/AAX DSP which is all 64bit.

Darryl Ramm has a nice script for checking plugin versions here. Maybe one day it also optionally mentions bitness, but even version number tells you a lot.

I've had some issues with plugins under Catalina. I don't remember if it's the installer (universal binary?) or the actual plugin. But even if you can run the plugin, not being able to install it is a hassle nonetheless.
In our case it was Penteo 7 on a rented dubstage running the latest Mac pro's. Had to run Penteo 16 instead which was no problem. I didn't test just copying the .aaxplugin file to the plugin folder.

That is a Penteo issue. I ran into the same thing. They told me Penteo 7 wouldn't be compatible on Catalina and above. It was some kind of 64/32 bit universal binary apparently.
