Can't launch 7.4

Hi,
Normally I run Pro Tools 10. But I have a session that was done in 5. Since I can't open it in ten, I thought I would dig out a 7.4 disc and Mbox mini.
I installed first on a vista machine, then an XP. Neither machine would launch the program. It acts like nothing has happened. Just nothing, won't launch. The program is completely dead. What am I doing wrong? Why won't it work?
Any ideas? I kind of need to get this session going. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hard to say without more info. Is the computer compatible? Are you running the installer correctly(IOW, do NOT attach the Mbox, run the installer, connect Mbox when asked......). When you connect the Mbox, does Windows actually see it(New Hardware Found message pops up)? I assume this is being done on a different computer than your PT10 setup?

Having said all that, I would have thought 10 would have opened the older sessions, but, if they were done on a Mac, and not saves with PC compatibility checked(or done with SD II format audio files) I could see that being an issue.

Hey Albee, thanks for the tips. Yeah, I don't know why 10 won't open them, but it won't. I can install 8 and it will launch, I try seven and nothing. I'm going into a studio Monday that has 7. The plan is, open it in 7 save it as a new session. Open that in 9 ( the studio has 9) and save that. Then bring it back home and open the 9 session in 10. Fun, huh?

If ms updated internet explore (to 8?) this could be your issue.
