Play cursor stuters or stops when I move the mouse (selector

Hello, I am a fairly new PT user. I started out running it on my Dell laptop running on Vista Home Premium w/2GB RAM and an external LaCie 500GB firewire drive for audio. I had everything running great (even though Digidesign customer support coudn't believe I had it running on my laptop setup....scary), even running two monitors. I did have little issues here and there but nothing major. Unfortunatly, the laptop is my girlfriends and she was starting to complain a littl to much for my liking. I was also talked into buying a new computer by Digidesign and some other more savy PT users I have met and my girlfriend of course. So I bought a new system a little more practical for PT. Its a DELL XPS 420, Core 2 Q6600 Quad core, 8MB L2 Cache, 2.4 GHZ, 4MB 667MHZ RAM, 128 MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro video card, 320GB SATA, 500GB firewire Audio drive, Vista Ultimate, M Box 2, PT 7.4cs2. Now finally to the couple of problems that I'm having and I'm hoping all of you can help me out. (I tried to include everything about my system, I noticed that is important here on the DUC) When I am playing back a recording and I move the selector tool around with the mouse the play cursor stutters or disapears untill I stop moving the mouse then it reapears where it should be. Playback doesn't stop so I've been able to continue working but it is very annoying. I am thinking its because I am running two monitors and maybe my video card is having a hard time? I havn't tryed working on one monitor yet, I am going to try that next. Any help would be greatly apreciated. The other problem is when I'm working in PT for a long time it sarts to react very slow and just plain weird. I checked the system usage window in PT and it's hardly using any CPU power or anything for that matter. I'm not running very many tracks, probably about ten max with Xpand or Structure on most of the tracks. The solution I've found so far is to save the session and close PT. Then a window pops up saying somthing like "PT has stopped working windows will look for a solution and tell you if any solutions are found." I close that window and PT closes. I open PT back up and the session I was just working on and everything is fine. I had no problems like this with the laptop and it wasn't even half of the computer this new one is. I am starting to blam the new computer but I'm sure there are just a few things that have to be shut off in the computer or start up menu. I did do all the Vista optimazations that Digi recomends. I didn't shut off all the start up items like digi said to do. I was a little nervous about that. The other thing that is very very annoying is that the selector arrow that appears when you go up to "file" or any of the pull down menus in PT and even when I'm not in PT just messing around on the internet or the computer, the tip of the arrow wont highlight the button I am trying to select. I have to put the bottom of the arrow on the button to get it to highlight so I can select it. The worst part is when I'm working with MIDI notes, the grabber tool turns into a little fist with a finger pointer, usually the finger tip would grab the note, NO I have to use the middle of the fist to select the note. I hope that make sense to you guys. Its a little hard to explain unless you seen it happen. Let me tell you, its very annoying. I gave the laptop to a computer savy friend of mine before I even ran PT in it and that thing was fine. I havn't given this new one to him yet. I have a 500GB Sata drive I'm waiting for and then I was going to give it to him and let him optimize this thing for me. I guess I'm just a little impatient. Any help to get me flowing a little quicker would be much appreciated though.
