Default Re: MBP Express 34 dual eSATA card 2 recommend?

Bump.

Ok. Over at the FCP forum 'Creative Cow' some use these (no fans)

An ISO 9001 company but did they discontinue this model or is it sold branded by Thermaltake, the Newertech version has an oxford 934d chipset ????

Curious if other Pro Toolers as Cubase and Sonar DAW users are recording to the Thermaltake BlacX Duet version.

Anyone know if SATA III (6 gigs) will cause problems if mixed with a Caviar SATA II? (G-5s didn't play nice with SATA 2 only 1.5 if on the internal controller so is it asking for problems (OWC TS says yes (problems possibly) with a port multiplier but no with a one-on-one straight through esata connection.)

WD SATA 3 can they also be pinned down to SATA 2? (w/jumpers) as the Seagate Barracudas Vrs 12s?

The new Velociraptor is SATA III but in a 3.5 inch case with fins to radiate heat (made for desktops)... they require 35% less power than the older 3.5 inch models.

Some MBPs or PC Laptops can handle SATA III via express cards, but others SATA II.

BTW the round extra-thick shielded 4 / 6 ft eSATA cables (posted by Dism) http://www.link-depot.com/e_sata.html are available through Newegg. OWC needs to step up their cable offerings as currently they sell ???? and not cables worthy of their Mercury Elite AL-Pro line.

Question to DTS -- Oxford 934d (approved or have others tried this?) 944 (not approved neither is 946 or the brand new 966?) Any updated news on Oxford Chipsets (also w eSATA?) Digi TS?
