Default Pro Tools performing better with MBox than Digi003...

I was just wondering... I have a Digi003 Rack and a MBox 2 Pro. When I'm using my Mbox, my sessions play back a lot smoother and overall performance is a lot more slick. Like when I play it back the bars|beats or time counter is nice and fluid when playing back with the MBox, but it's choppy as hell when playing back with the Digi003. I can't imagine why this would be happening, nor could I imagine an explanation. If the MBox was USB maybe I'd understand.. but both are using the same firewire port and even the same firewire cable. I'm also obviously using the same computer and same harddrive with each setup. Could anyone offer some insight on this?

Yes they are firewire, but they use differant drivers. Perhapse re-install your 003 driver.

What kind of Firewire card do you have - what's the chipset?

There are multiple reasons why a 003 can put different challenges on a computer and peripherals than an Mbox. Post a Sandra report and let a few of us have a look, it could be the system and not the interface.
