I think Q2 and equilibrium are both great...I'm not 100% sure if I could tell them apart blind, but if I could it would be because equilibrium seems to sit a tad more mid forward than q2 in their default modes. Of course that might just be psychosomatic...

In either case I do like equilibrium better for M/S stuff with two faders instead of pan and better metering for each mid and side. Q2 spectrum grab is amazing for surgical stuff, and from scratch the interface of it is a little faster to get through, so it sees a lot of use too. I don't have any issues with the sounds coming from either of them.

Default Fabfilter Pro EQ-2

I just Demoed FF and Eqilibrium. Both good. Went with FF. Definitely more flexible. Not my first choice as a channel strip EQ. But for mastering it's fantastic.

Some elements of the GUI were not entirely intuitive. But once you get a feel for it, it's amazingly powerful.

It's possible I just didn't spend enough time with equilibrium but it seemed like you had to choose to either do stereo or MS in a given instance. FabFilter lets you mix-and-match within the same instance.

How are you getting L/R and M/S in a single instance of Pro-Q 2?

Not seeing an option in Pro-Q 2 to allow mixed L/R and M/S. The "Channel Mode" affects the entire instance: it's either L/R -or- M/S.

DMGAudio EQuilibrium is the same.

HOFA IQ-EQ offers mixed L/R and M/S per instance.
