Is there a drum replacer/sound replacer???
Hey guys,
I like to record all of my drums much better than programming them. But I was wondering how some of these more modern punk rock bands are getting these extremely amazing punchy drum sounds that sound a little electronic. I have heard of a drum replacer that can take an actual acoustic set being played by a human being and replace the sounds of the drums to be better??? What is the deal with this. Of course, I would not use this all the time as I am a huge fan of actual drum sounds and the quality of musicianship, but in the case of a local punk band coming into record who wants to have drums that sound like story of the year, how could I help them achieve these sounds. What is a good drum replacer program and where would I get it and for how much? I'm guessing it is just a software program, correct??? |

Re: Is there a drum replacer/sound replacer???
A bit more comprehensive list:
Digidesign SoundReplacer - $395, or free when you purchase the upcoming Music Production Toolkit Drumagog - $269, Andrew already mentioned it, but it's worth another mention. apulSoft appTrigga2 - Only $45US but you'll neet the VST-RTAS adapter. I've got this one and it's pretty decent for $45. and then there is the seemingly perpetual vaporware, TLLabs Drum Rehab which "will be available soon" (for the past year or so)
