It does work, but MS makes it sound like they will not push updates to unsupported systems running 11. I’m not sure what that exactly means, but just be aware.

Yeah, its some real strange wording. I can't imagine MS would publish the workaround and then not push updates to those systems. But who knows.

My GUESS would be they are just covering all bases in case someones computer gets fubared, and I'm sure some will since the registry is not very user friendly.

Only do this if you don't mind totally messing up your system - potentially.

Everything installed fine on a HP Z820 with TPM 1.2 and a non-supported CPU.

All apps are still installed and everything is working so far.

I just converted MBR to GPT, using Macrium Reflect Free. Worked. Next, in bios, I enabled Secure Boot. Worked. Windows Update now says:

"This PC can run Windows 11
Great news—your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. Specific timing for when it will be offered can vary as we get it ready for you."

And the 11 update is NOT (yet) listed. They're rolling it out in stages. I'm gonna wait until they push it out to me (rather than using the Microsoft Windows 11 Installation Assistant tool). No rush.

I understand people running the very latest generation of Intel CPUs will see a performance update which makes it well worth upgrading. The rest of us, not so much.

For the record, I did receive updates the other day. Hopefully that will continue.

I used the official Microsoft method to upgrade my unsupported PC (HP Z820) to Windows 11. You can bypass the check for TPM2.0 and CPU, but you will need TPM 1.2 and the other requirements like enough hard drive space, ram, secure boot, etc...

If you want to try it yourself it's pretty easy, but there are always risks when you modify the registry. Proceed only if you accept those risks! Create a FULL backup ON ANOTHER DRIVE before you try this.

Here's a full video with the links you need in the description. Available on YouTube, Rumble, and Odysee.

The OFFICIAL way to Upgrade to WINDOWS 11 with an UNSUPPORTED Computer for FREE 🔥

https://youtu.be/s28TlbINbUE

https://rumble.com/vnpl9f-the-offici...uter-for-.html

https://odysee.com/@benonitech:d/Upg...supported-PC:5

Couple points:

Make sure you install ALL Windows 10 updates before doing this, otherwise you won't find the MoSetup folder in your registry.

Backup EVERYTHING before you begin (unless you really like to take risks)

Unplug your iLok before installing.

There is another way to do this where you don't need TPM at all, but it's not approved by MS. So, you'll have to find that yourself at Tom's Hardware.

I looked at Tom's Hardware. Nice solution and, since I backup my OS drive nightly, worth a try.
