version 4

hi.

i just saw the S3L video which was carrying heaps of info on version 4. will version 4 be available for profiles/sc48? i mean, there are mostly software based differences instead of dsp stuff between v3 and v4 right?

any info on that?

It's been said a version of 4 comes to the rest of the desks at some point but when they don't say.

This was the first question I asked when I walked up to the S3L at infocomm. The short answer is yes, they do plan on releasing V4 for the VENUE line.

The long answer is yes, but not all of the features will be available. Some of it is simply software changes, but some of it does rely on dsp. There is quite a bit more processing power in the S3L than most of the VENUE line.
