How to open PT 5.x sessions in PT 7.x
I had been using an old Digi 001 and PT 5.1 for a long time. I then recently upgraded to an Mbox Mini with PT 7. But I'm having trouble opening my old sessions. They're greyed out in the Open File dialog box and if I change the extension to .ptf, it tells me that the session was created with an old version of Pro Tools and refuses to open.
I can't imagine there isn't some simple solution to this, but I just can't figure it out. Anyone got an answer? Thanks! -e

Re: How to open PT 5.x sessions in PT 7.x
You should try changing the extension to .pts, as that's the one it would have had originally.
How were these sessions stored (hard drive, CD, DVD)? What system were they created on - Mac or Win? |

Re: How to open PT 5.x sessions in PT 7.x
The session in question was originally stored on my old Mac G4 tower's hard drive. From there it went to a flash drive, then to my Iomega external drive where I keep all my new Mbox sessions.
Everything's been Mac. The old sessions were created in OS 9. -e
