Default Apple Cinema Display, Pro and Con

Major studio upgrade in the next month or so...

Should we swing for the fence and get the Apple Cinema Display?

"Artistic" studio partner has the money, wants the monitor.

"Practical" Engineer Bill is doubtful. Do we neeed it that bad?

Pros? Cons?

"Give it to me straight, Doctor.
I can take it."

Thanks,
SC

Hey GT40sc,

I, too, had the same sensation roughly a year ago when budgeting for my two rooms. But, you know what? - it was worth every stinking penny.

Your eyes will suffer less fatigue, your mix and edit windows look like they're supposed to - I could go on and on...

Suffice it to say - a happy (and quite surprised) convert to the big screen here.

Best o luck...

The brightness and crispness of the screen will shock and delight you. Well worth the money, especially at what it's going for now. Not only smart as an 'artistic' statement, but the 22" wide layout really lends itself to the pt windows.

I heard that the 22" Cinema will be drastically reduced in price I'm not sure though, but thats what I already read in two other forums.

The Cinema Display is well worth it. It's such a pleasure to work with. Go for it!

Good luck,
John

Hi
lemme say this first - I agree with all the good stuff you have to say. A friend of mine uses one - it looks so wonderful.
My question:
is anyone using two of them ? one cinema display will look better and be a lot healthier to the aging eyes - but it will not compensate for what you can see on two 21 inch monitors.
Anybody know a setup/card on a G4 based System that can handle 2 cinema displays ?
Now wouldn't that be lovely ?
