Pro Control goes offline
My Pro Control occasionally goes off-line. tapping fingers, freeze. It seems to happen most often when recording a full band, i.e. 16 tracks in record, but sometimes simply overdubbing a vocal seems to be impossible. We started avoiding quick punch, that seemed to help a little bit, but not really.

Re: Pro Control goes offline
sounds like a scsii problem to me..
if it was just a matter of the PC going offline I would check the ethernet connection, but that locking up sounds more SCSII. Good luck |

Re: Pro Control goes offline
Polyester:
Some info please: What computer and Pro Tools system are you on? What SCSI host card and how many drives? Memory allocation? Mac OS ? If you take Pro Control offline and record do you have any "tapping fingers" or related freeze on the system? Has Pro Control and Pro Tools ever worked on your system or is the problem recent? Are you using the ether net crossover cable (Red Label)supplied with Pro Control( For use with a Pro Control Main unit and no HUB only ) ? Mj |

Re: Pro Control goes offline
I would check that it's not just your computer feezing because of another reason, when I was having problems my computer it would freeze and Procontrol would go offline but it wasn't caused by the Procontrol.I've never had a communication problem with Procontrol.List your setup.

Wow what a setup! Well first you should update your FWB HDT to 3.0.2 or later. Waves is always a "finger tapper" not just to put the blame there but it would be interesting to run some recording with the waves shell pulled. Update your Mac OS to 8.6, It is much more stable. Your Card configuration in the CPU is incorrect. Should be: CPU: S1 Chassis S2 Second Video ( monitor 2 ) S3 empty S4 SCSI host S5 DC-30 S6 Main display ( monitor 1 ) Chassis the same Also it would be interesting to see if the DC-30 out of the system made a difference? Might check Micro's website for updates? Make shure you dont change the minimum memory settings on the DAE or PT apps. In your sessions, what kind of track count? Are you allocating among multiple drives? If so how many in the sessions? are you using round robin? Mj [This message has been edited by TechSupt (edited May 12, 2000).] |
