Default When will 001 go clearance? Any word??

Yeah, been holding out. For those not rolling in the dough, like me, a digi001 at a serious reduction would be attractive. Am I stupid to wait and not go for the digi002?

Please keep in mind that my needs are simple and that I will probably have the tracks mixed and mastered in a full-blown studio.

In my case, that might be better than getting my own near-fields, etc, etc, etc, and spending many more thousands, plus mastering all the learning curves. That's fine for those that have all the time and money. Yeah, I'll probably need a few pluggins. But, I'm much more an artist than engineer, just trying to get a CD done. Do you think I'm on the right track?

Have you considered the Mbox? Thats that I use and if your needs are simple that's the way to go. As long as you don't need any more than two inputs at the same time then it will be just fine. Actually, they tell me that the mic pre's on the Mbox are actually better than the ones on the 001. So go figure.

Get the M-box if you will never need more than 2 inputs at once. Otherwise check the various online used gear sites for a used 001. You can usually pick one up for $4-500 used.

Hope this is helpful.

Yes it is. Thank you. I'm sure many have considered the used route, but don't you need an activation code of some kind? And does Digi support used gear as such?

peace

Digi supports equipment for a year from the date of registration. Some units for sale on eBay have never been registered, so once you fax your info in, you're covered. Now and then you can find one that's never even been out of the box. It's worth your patience to see if one comes available.
