Default HELP: No record volumes designated

ok so I know how stupid this might sound but anyways! I recently bought the mbox to go with my imac powerpc g4 800mhz and I've been having this problem:

when I press record ready(with pro tools LE 6.0) to get my mic signal I get this message:"no record
volumes designated".

so when I go to designated one (my HD) I get:"MAcintosh HD cannot be
designated as an audio record volume because it is not a valid audio playback".

anyways I just got my Mbox and so I'm not quite sure what to do to make it work
I am getting a signal through in the mbox but the computer doest seem to acknowledge it.
I was just wondering if anybody could help me out?
thanks!
