MODO BASS 2 updated... stuck notes gone?

Just a heads up that IK Multimedia dropped MODO BASS 2 2.0.3 today and so far... with a quick test... I am not getting any stuck notes which I used to get all the time in PT. I hope this holds up for everyone else!

That's great news. I was getting those stuck notes.

Have you also updates ProTools and/or your OS recently? I'm trying to figure out what the actual cause was, whether strictly MODO or if PT and the OS are also involved.

There are still several VIs which stick -- some of them badly -- so if we can reveal the culprit perhaps we could spread that knowledge to the other developers. They seem stumped at the moment.

For me, I'm pretty certain it was the MODO BASS 2 update that fixed it. I can't say with ABSOLUTE certainty, but I'm pretty sure the stuck notes were happening AFTER I updated to PT 2024.6 and BEFORE I updated MODO BASS 2. They appear to be gone now.

As further evidence that it was the MODO BASS 2 update that was the solution, there were Digital Performer users reporting stuck notes with MODO BASS 2 also (I run a board for DP users... PT is not my primary DAW) and they, too, I reporting that this appears fixed with this update.

I'm also on Sonoma 14.5

Actually the stuck notes was fixed in Pro Tools 2024.6 for me before the MODO BASS 2 update. What has been fixed with the Modobass update is when it would go completely silent from time to time. Have you tried it with 2024.3? Also there is nothing in the release notes the indicate the update addressed the stuck notes. See attachment.

I was hoping that little bit of required online forum cover-your-ass would have helped, but I guess not.

I didn't take notes as to whether the stuck notes went away with 2024.6. I seem to recall that, but I could be wrong. MODO BASS 2 was the ONLY VI I had stuck notes with, but then it's not my primary DAW so I may have simply not tried enough of them. Either way, glad it's fixed.

I'm off to go work on a better social media / online forum "cover your ass disclaimer" now...

This was listed in the 2024.6 bug fix list. See below. I'm happy to finally be able to use this plugin in Pro Tools as well as the ModoBass update that fixed the issue with it not producing sound. It's now working on par with the VST3 and AU Versions in other DAW's.

Woah! I missed that. If true that's a huge bug fix. Now I'm off to test Output's Arcade which is dreadful when it comes to stuck notes.

Latest version of Modo Bass 2 still has random stuck/hanging notes on my Windows 10 Home system with PT Ultimate version 2024.3.
It starts when stopping playback and then starting playback again. Then the notes are stuck untill the same notes are played later in the PT session timeline.

Notes are also hanging in other VI's on my system. Like Sparkle2, Iron2, Amber2, Silk2 from Ujam and Prime, Icon, Electric Mint, Electric Vintage, Electric Sunburst, Picked Nylon from Native Instruments.
Also here it randomly happen when I stop playback.

Since this is happening to multiple VI's in Pro Tools I'm wondering if this is a Pro Tools issue or an VI issue?

Unfortunately I don't have access to the latest versions of PT any longer so I can't confirm if updating to latest version of PT would help but I'm running PT Ultimate 2024.3

It's frustrating for us who are trying to produce, keep all VI's live in the PT session because of production changes. There are many times Im trying to listen to my bounced mp3 in the car half way to work only to realise some of the VI's are hanging all through the whole song.

Well I can report that this issue has been fixed in 2024.6. I would like to add that this problem was not just a Pro Tools issue or a VI issue but maybe both. There are many reports of other DAW's having this same issue with ModoBass 2 like Cubase Pro 13, CakeWalk, and Cantabile to name a few. I would say that what ever the problem is Avid has stepped up to the plate and have done their part to finally fix it with 2024.6 and fortunately, and I say fortunately, because you get a lot of other goodies with 2024.6 as well as bug fixes. So as it stands right now your only way forward at this time is to upgrade to 2024.6 but IMHO it is well worth the upgrade not just for the bug fixes.

Neither side will accept the blame. Since it's not every VI, Avid says that it's Modo's fault. Since it doesn't happen in Logic, IK says it's Avid's fault.

No one does much about it and the users suffer.

FWIW, I, too, am still getting stuck notes, even w/ PT 2024.6.
