Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

Hi there,

since the 24.3 update the daily "unable to communicate with the SYNC HD"-errors are back. They were down to once every 2-3 weeks with 23.12 but now it happens every moring and can only be fixed by multiple re-boots of the computer.
Digitest says all is fine. SYNC HD is v2.2.1

Quite often I now get an initial "frame rate mismatch between incoming reference and video"-error followed by a -22005 error or something like that and then PT won't play. This happens even when the SYNC HD is detected on launch.
Video is DNxHD36 1080p 24fps and reference is a matching trilevel video ref sent to both AJA and SYNC HD

The error doesn't go away after re-starting PT. It goes away by re-starting the mac (sometimes a couple of times). Once it works it will work for the rest of the day.

This did not happen at all before 24.3.

A friend is running an identical hardware setup as me and is getting the exact same errors randomly but not rarely.

not really helpful for your situation, but FYI:
I haven't seen that error in years with my config:

Mac Studio
Blackmagic Ultrastudio HD
Sync HD, both genlocked by a
Rosendahl Nanoclock HD outputting Wordclock and Video Ref

Thanks! When you say "in years", are you on PT24.3 with the 24.3 HD driver?

Hey all

For what it is worth, we have not updated code relating to Sync HD or Sync X in Pro Tools or the HD Driver in several releases.

It might be worth rolling back or doing a co-install of Pro Tools versions (just rename the current one installed and install the older one) to see if you continue to see the issue on the older version of PT.

If you do not see an improvement, please get a case opened up with us so we can take a look at the logs.
