Default Half Speed Record revert to normal speed?

If i record something at half speed, is there anyway to bounce the audio as it is in actuality or not half speed?

i accidentally recorded some stuff half speed, and need it normal.

Easy. Let's say you recorded at half speed in a 48kHz session, create a 96kHz session and import the audio without sample rate conversion, the audio will play back and fine. Then you can export it and set the sample rate to whatever you need. There are other ways also.

Edit: I'm sorry. I got that wrong. Backwards. upside down. I'll just leave it to my DUC friends to correct me.

I'm going to try this

Should it introduce any artifacts recording at half speed?

If you recorded at half speed, then it should play back at double speed on normal playback. So when you convert this to normal speed, i.e half as fast, you will effectively have a recording sampled with half as many samples per second. So yes, you will lose resolution, but I doubt you will notice any difference.

I think you should just use elastic audio (look it up) and change the length of the clip.
Edit: Just use the "Time Shift" plugin in the Audiosuite menu.

Did you use the SHIFT modifier on the keyboard before hitting record in Pro Tools or some other method?

You could tell us what the reason was that you recorded at half speed. Remember, the point of this forum is to help each other out, but also to share knowledge and solutions.

We get this from time to time, people asking for help, then later saying; 'forget it, I found the solution'. I expect it's most often because the poster found it was a mistake on his part, and is embarrassed about it…

Just do this:

1. Switch elastic on the track, use Varispeed : https://duc.avid.com/attachment.php?...1&d=1676204373

2. Get the Elastic Properties page up : https://duc.avid.com/attachment.php?...1&d=1676204373

3. Change the TCE factor from 100% to 200% : https://duc.avid.com/attachment.php?...1&d=1676204373

Your audio will now be running at the speed you recorded it at.

I have used half speed record in this manner. Play an octave down and you should be good. The only caveat is the format shift when played back in at normal speed. It will sound unreal in the manner of Beatles takes recorded in this manner. The liked the ethereal effect of re-pitching but you might prefer not to be spotted.

Personally, I tend to use Elastic Audio for something more natural which requires slowing down during recording. Put all tracks in EA poly and tick based. Reduce the tempo to something that helps you nail the performance, for example from 108 BPM to 98 - 88. Once you have it, check at full speed and tweak any EA parameters as required to avoid any stretch marks and edit the takes are required.
