No issues opening older sessions with 2020. The new folder tracks in 2020 do open differently if you open a 2020 session in 2019.
I've had no issues with 2020 personally, but 2019 was working well for me too. Joel

Current session file .ptx was introduced in PT10 and all of those will open. Obviously, as said, new features will not open on older software but old sessions are safe.
Also the previous session file .ptf that was used in PT7-9 opens just fine. Save in current format to be able to use new features. PT6 and earlier may be tricky.
