(NEW) Eventide SP2016 Reverb Plugin
Just showed on their website, but was seen last nite on audiodeluxe.com for sale even before the official launch:
https://www.eventideaudio.com/produc.../sp2016-reverb Seems a lot like a repack of this discontinued Bundle: https://www.eventideaudio.com/produc...rb-2016-bundle New vintage looking fader based GUI, nothing else seems new, or am I wrong?

Re: (NEW) Eventide SP2016 Reverb Plugin
Yup just that.
Got it for $29 as discount upgrade from 2016 Stereo Room. I won't be able to compare to TDM, but hope it sounds nice.

Re: (NEW) Eventide SP2016 Reverb Plugin
It includes the 2016 Stereo Room algorithm but if you have the blue 2016 plugin the $29 upgrade will let you keep both. It includes a vintage version of the Stereo Room as well as the modern (which is the one that sounds to me like the blue version) and both modern and vintage Room and Plate. I'll get it even if it's for the Vintage version of the Stereo Room, it sounds as good as one would expect from Eventide and the interface is as practical as it gets. Thanks for the heads up!

Eventide is really awesome! I just really wish they had ported their TDM stuff like this to AAX DSP.

Re: (NEW) Eventide SP2016 Reverb Plugin
Plates sounds a bit on the clangy side to me, I have not had the chance to hear a hardware SP2016, but I guess plates are not it's strong suit. Rooms sounds nice, a little better than the blue 2016 Stereo Room IMO.

Quote:
Those earlier plugins modeled the algorithm but not the hardware itself. They sound good in their own right, but they're not quite the same sound as the box. With the benefit of faster computers and better signal analysis tools, we've gone back and tried to figure out what made the original hardware box sound the way it did, and built the plugin taking into account such things as the box's filters in AD/DA conversion, sample rate, and bit depth. We think you'll notice a difference, and encourage you to try the free 30 day trial. |
