Cryptic routing problem with C24 and 192
Hello,
I just hooked-up a brand new C24 to my HD3/192, PT7.3.1cs3. The C24 is recognized without problems, updated the firmware, but the output from the C24 ends up on the wrong Monitor-Out on C24: - The monitors are connect to a digisnake XLR 1 and 2, itself plugged into the 'speaker-out' DB25 in back of the C24 - I created a session, with SMPTE path order, very basic I/O routing A1-2 goes to the physical A1-2 on the 192. - I import a stereo Audio file, and set its output to A1-2. - On the C24, I hit the stereo monitor button, and the 'protool source 1&2' button is set. - Hit play. - The bus output meter leds shows activity on 1 and 2. (I guess that means the C24 receives input from the 192 on 1 and 2) = However, no sound. What I've tried so far: - I can hear sound on right hand side speaker if I press 'protool source 5 and 6' (!). - If I want to hear both left & right, I have to map the protools A1-2 to the physical A6-7 on the 192. But the the bus output meter on the C24 shows activity only on 6 (there is no 7 obviously). What am I doing wrong ? Best regards, Nils. |

Re: Cryptic routing problem with C24 and 192
Hello C, I got it from a music store here in Australia. I cannot be 100% sure. Am I correct in assuming the cable should be a 1-to-1 mapping, ie: pin 1 in goes to pin-1-out etc... . However, since the bus-ouput leds shows activity on 1 and 2, I was rulling out the cable issue, because the signal is comming in to the C24 on the right input, no ?

Re: Cryptic routing problem with C24 and 192
I'm going to have to map out your path. give me a little while.
Can't get my head around it at the moment. Anyone have any ideas? When we use the C24's it's with the Film setup rather than SMPTE but I don't think that is the problem here. Maybe an audition path is set wrong so when you hit Stereo Monitors it is switching to outputs 6/7 (which is strange). It's been a long day and my brain is a little frazzled. Sorry. Ceri |

Re: Cryptic routing problem with C24 and 192
I noticed through trial and error that I need to map the output of the 192 backwards, so starting at A2 through A7: Rs Ls Lfe C R L.
I guess my DB25 cable is wrong... |

Re: Cryptic routing problem with C24 and 192
Hey C, I went back to the store I got the DB25 from, and confirmed that I had the wrong cable. Thanks for the hint and your time.
Regards, Nils. |
