Would really appreciate some feedback on the specs I posted a couple days ago. this is the system I want to have built. I want to be sure I've got the right components and am not overlooking anything. Thanks.
I'd feel better ordering the system if a couple of you told me its good.

Thanks

In case my reply didn't get thru, I think the build looks great, though I think the graphics card may be overkill. I run 3 screens on a simple $100 nVidia card that has 4 HDMI outputs(all screens are 1920x1080). As for things to copy, that's sort of option. You could go thru the old files and copy over IO settings, session templates and track presets. I'm not sure anything else will matter. On the new system, I would go thru Preferences and reset to your liking(I would not risk polluting the new rig with an old prefs file). As for plugin presets, not sure how many you have(I only have maybe 8-10). I find it pretty easy to open an existing session that uses some, open those plugins(which should come up with the saved settings) and then save them as presets on the new machine(this probably IS something you could copy over).

Thanks, Dave. That helps a lot. I don't think I've got many preset settings saved per se. I do have a number of User patch libraries I've created myself for my various VI's, but those I can easily copy over to the new system.

Am I correct to assume that once I copy my current session drive over to the new system that when I open a session all the plugin settings I used for that session will just be there?

Is there something I should do differently? I'm not well versed in all the techno-babble about MB's and all that, so would like to be sure I'm getting what will be a stable and fast system.

Here's the parts list that I'm having built.

Power supply - EVGA 850W B5 Fully-Modular PSU
MB - Gigabyte z790 UD AC
CUP - i9-14900k
Thermalite Dual Air Cooler
Corsiar RGB 64GB 6000 DDR5
OS Drive - 1TB Samsung 990 EVO M.2 SSD
Session Drive - 2TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD
Additional drive for samples, patches, etc - 4 TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD
Video - MSI RTX 4060 2x 8GB (g-force)
OS - Win-11
And one mLan port for my Yamaha Motif XS8 which is my main MIDI controller.

Good? ANYONE???
.

Thanks
Build looks good! I’d get 4TB internal SSD’s. You can easily partition them for organizational purposes, too.

I am getting 1 for samples and patch libraries. Thanks. I have 4.75TB of drive space on my current system. The new one will be 6TB total. I think I’ll be good for a good while. Plus I have a 10TB back up drive.

Appreciate your input. I’m confident this be a good system for a long time to come.

They SHOULD.

Well, I got my new system on Friday. One unexpected bonus, one side of the case is clear and it has pretty lights when it’s running!

Anyway, I took my time getting everything hooked up and then booting it up. It sure was nice to have it boot up in less than 10 seconds! Got PT installed, and then I began running down my list of plugins and getting those installed.

So far, everything is working very well. Love seeing those 32 cores. Still have some additional programs to install, but I am very pleased. Thanks to all of you for the advice and suggestions along the way.
