MCPro: M/S/L LEDS & joystick functions?

I own a 2nd hand v1 MC Pro with 4 faders which does outstanding duty in my projectstudio, though; I never understood the functionality of some LEDS and buttons:

On a MC Pro with 4 faders:
What do the LEDS M , S and L left-below the 4 faders mean?
I found out that the L lights when I somehow link or group faders, so it must be some LINK-identification?

On a MC Pro with 2 joysticks:
How do the buttons VIEW and SHUTTLE work?
How does the LINK-button work?

The View and Shuttle don't do anything. The M and S are left over from S5 (Master and Slave) and don't show anything either.

Hey Eddie,
I just read this on page 13 of a 5MC's brochure called "System 5-MC MC Tour 07"

The faders are the same high quality professional long-throw faders found on the System 5 console and can be used for control of track levels in EuCon or HUI applications. The same applies to the Joysticks which can also be used for panning or other control functions including shuttle, zoom level and view position.....

Have these joystick-features been implemented to the modern MCPro's?

And;
I found out that the "M"-LEDS next to the faders light when I assign a Group-track from Nuendo to that strip......does this identify the "Master"-function? Isn't there any possibility to use the "S"-LEDS?

I think that was the original intent but then those functions were deemed better using the jog wheel.
The LED's are controlled from the DAW so it would be up to Nuendo to adds that functionality.
