Default PT2023.3 / why pan act as volume?

Hi!

When record on PT2023.3 I don't hear a thing. But when I touch the pan I start to hear what I recorded. This is bizarre.

Why does it act so?

Start over with a blank session. Create a mono AUX track and pull the fader down. Insert the Signal Generator plugin(Other category). Set it to pink noise and bring the fader up. Since a mono track will default to center panning, what do you hear? If it comes out of both speakers, that's correct. If it comes out of only one side, then you have a problem to find. Not being a UA user, I can only shoot in the dark, but I would suspect either:
A-something not set correctly in the Apollo software
B-outputs not wired correctly(I've seen some newbies use a cable from a single TRS output that splits out to dual mono(TS) connections to their speakers(which doesn't work).
More info might help, but I would start with some tutorials on using the UA software to get routing done correctly(either from UA's website or youtube). You might also try not using the UA software and monitor directly thru Pro Tools and see if anything changes
