Default Anyone try the new Exponential R4 yet?

Anyone try the new Exponential Audio R4 Reverb yet?

They're offering a big discount for current owners of other Exponential Audio products.

Wondering if it's worth it?

I have it and love it! The R4 freeze function is amazing for sound design. This one is definitely worth it in my honest opinion.

I jumped in on the upgrade offer and really like it. Very nice job Exponential did on this one.

Is the freeze function like the one in Eventide Blackhole?

Don't know I've never had my hands on the Eventide. Freeze is kind of a tricky thing to pull off. You've got to capture the contents of the reverb in a way that smooths any splice points (you don't want it to sound like a loop in an old sampler). You've also got to make sure that all internal filtering is turned off in a way that doesn't cause it to die away or blow up.

One thing that might be a little unusual in this is the fact that you can still modulate the EQ on the frozen tail.

I'm here to answer other questions if anybody has them.

Michael
