transfering session: PC to MAC
I have a PC (windows xp) based PT HD 7.3 system. I need to transfer several sessions to a Mac based (not sure of OS level, but I believe it is the most recent) PT HD 7.3 system. The sessions were "tracking and editing" sessions (PT was used for recording tracks and then editing the takes, there was no processing or mixing down in the PT sessions and no plug ins were used). The client will bring me an unformatted portable firewire hard drive. My plan (so far) is to format the drive as I would normally do for backing up sessions, that is as an NTSF drive. I would then copy the folder containing the sessions (all the files related to these session are in one folder- alternatively I could use PT’s “Save Copy In” function).
Will this work? Will the Mac system have any problems opening my sessions? Is there a better way to transfer the sessions? Thank for the advise.
