Re: No audio output
And before trying to do anything with VIs you do have Pro Tools working playing back standard audio???? Like you can drag and drop a know good (e.g. commercial) mp3 audio file into the mix window. let Pro Tools create a audio track for that content and you can play back and hear that OK??? I guess if you can hear the metronome all this should work.

Re: No audio output
Start with a new empty session, not from a template, not from a copy of an existing session, start over with an new empty session. And not a cloud project.
Make sure your Pro Tools playback engine is set to the ASIO interface. Drag and drop a known good mp3 or similar file onto that session mix window. let it create an audio track. Confirm you can play and hear that track. Now create a single mono virtual instrument track and insert mini grand on that. Click on piano keys in the plugin UI do you hear the piano? Do you see the VI track meters move? And just not hear anything? Make sure the VI track fader is not pulled down. (Not hearing anything if you have done the above but see the VI track meter move is possibly an IO routing problem, or some mistake like the track being in mute, or volume or other automation accidently written to the track.). Still having problems post a screenshot of your VI track in both the mix and edit windows, especially showing the I/O selectors, also post screenshots of your setup>IO>Output and Setup>IO>Bus pages. |

Re: No audio output
Attached are some examples of the sorts of screenshots that might help. But some shown will differ for you, but there is an instrument track here with mini grand inserted on it. In this case it is a MacBook Pro, I know you are on Windows. Mix and Edit views screenshots in this case showing the output I/O selector is set to "Analog 1-2" and the setup>IO>Output and Bus pages show this output is going to the Mac built in speakers. I'm not asking you to understand these just showing the type of screenshots I want you to share if you see meters move but don't hear any sound. The paper clip icon lets you attach image files, It's even better if you post screenshots on a good photo sharing site and just include links to them here (the mountain picture icon), that way the forum does not downscale them/make them hard to read.

Re: No audio output
You say you have a Presonus interface? Then you should be using the driver from Presonus and NOT the ASIO4ALL driver(which is a band-aid at best and would only be used when running the onboard sound card with PT). For best performance, do these things(in this order):
1-uninstall ASIO4ALL(you can always add it back later) 2-install the Presonus driver 3-go to Windows Sound Properties and set the default playback device to the onboard sound card(realtek?) 4-open Pro Tools and verify that the Presonus interface is the designated "audio engine". 5-open a new blank Pro Tools session and create 1 mono AUX track. Pull the fader down all the way and then insert(in Slot A) the Signal Generator plugin(its in the "Other" category). Set it to pink noise and bring the track fader up slowly. If you hear the pink noise thru your speakers and/or headphones, then you know things are working. If you hear nothing, then its probably a setting in the Presonus monitor/routing utility.
