Toying with the idea to resurrect my Eleven Rack

I haven't used my Eleven Rack for years. I replaced it with an Atomic Firebox and an HX Effects, both for guitar and bass. Sounds very good and more flexible.

I played my bass patches today on my 12" top + 12" sub PA and it sounded very very good. Then came the idea to resurrect my 11R.

I'm toying with the idea to replace my "hybrid" tube amp (Rocktron Voodu Valve preamp and Peavey Classic 60/60 tube power amp) with the Eleven Rack and a Crown XLS1502 solid-state power amp, in my 4u rack case. This will drive my 4x12" guitar cab at home and a 1x12" guitar cab when jamming with friends. It will also drive a Peavey 1516 bass cab in bi-amp mode instead of using the internal passive crossover when I'm playing bass.

My idea is to use my Eleven Rack as a regular guitar or bass amp, no cab sims.

Am I stupid to invest in a SS power amp just for that?
Should I simply buy an EVH 5150 Iconic combo and be done with guitar amps?

That's basically how I run mine - Eleven Rack, ART SLA-1 power amp and FRFR speakers (kind of...).

If you'll enjoy it, go for it!

No cab sim for me, I would use it as a regular amp head using a regular guitar cab.
