I don't think anyone likes workarounds but they do serve a purpose.

No one is excusing Avid, I was offering a method for improving the current GUI experience in lieu of a longterm fix, which may not come. I understand if it's not your preference but you don't need to characterize my attempts at being helpful as excuses for Avid. They are the former, not the latter. I'm at least as pissed about having to move away from my monitor's 4K abilities, seeing how that's where the extra several hundred dollars went, but, in my experience, it improves PT's visuals.

Avid hasn't even engaged in this conversation which you'd started. Others have. I'm not sure where you'd expected this thread to go.

Eric, i am not characterizing any attempts of yours, or knocking you in any way, i am possibly "knocking" Avid for their lack of innovation , and eagerness to listen to their long time customers, i mean Pro Tools has had this static interface for as long as i can remember, and i've been using pro tools all my life.... so it's a simple request,

where do I expect this thread to go? simple

to someone at Avid who actually cares and does something about it, that's who

I put a request in through Avid Link a few months ago, but I don't know how much traction that stuff gets.

I think that if enough people chime in with a request it will get prioritized. It's worth trying. There are people at Avid who are paying attention to those things.
